Optimise Stock Handling with Merging and Splitting Pallets

Merging and splitting pallets in Clarus WMS helps to improve how you handle stock. Merging combines all stock from two or more pallets into one, while splitting transfers only a part of the stock from one pallet to another.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Create a Pick List

Before you begin merging or splitting, you must generate a pick list. This list will show the pallets and the quantity of stock on each. For example, you might have 8 pieces of stock on one pallet and 12 pieces on another.

2. Access the RF Gun

On your RF gun, select Transfer, then choose Picked Stock Transfer. This will start the merge or split process.

3. Merge or Split Pallets

First, enter or scan the Storage Unit/Pallet Reference for the pallet you want to merge or split. Next, you will be asked to enter or scan the reference for the destination pallet (the one you are merging to or splitting to).

For merging, enter the full amount of stock to move all of it to the new pallet. For splitting, enter only the partial quantity of stock you wish to transfer.

4. Complete the Transfer

After using the RF gun, check the Transfer tab in the frontend. A new task should appear and be marked as completed from your RF scanning. Then, verify the process in the Dispatch tab to confirm the products are on the same pallet (for a merge) or that the stock has been correctly split between pallets.
