Case Picking from Racking

Case Picking from Racking

Hybrid picking paths based on order configuration. Stop forcing case-quantity orders through your unit pickfaces. Direct heavy lifts to racking and small picks to the shelf—automatically, in a single workflow.

What’s launching

We are introducing a multi-tier picking logic that allows the system to split a single SKU request across different location types based on your packaging hierarchy (Units, Cases, Inners, and Outers).

  • Product-level configuration for location-specific picking.

  • Intelligent task splitting (e.g., Case from Racking, Units from Pickface).

  • Support for granular "Stock Record" hierarchies.

  • Dynamic location-to-configuration mapping.

Why it matters

  • Optimised Pick Efficiency: Reduce picker travel and fatigue by pulling bulk cases directly from racking rather than depleting small-item pickfaces.

  • Slash Replenishment Costs: By picking cases from reserve storage, you preserve your pickface stock for unit-level orders, drastically reducing unnecessary replenishment cycles.

  • Operational Alignment: Mirror your physical warehouse reality in the system—no more workarounds for products stored in multiple formats.

Technical Sync/Specs

  • Task Logic: Automatic split-generation based on the highest available unit of measure (e.g., an order for 22 units becomes 1 Case + 2 Units).

  • Configuration: Toggle-based setting on specific pickface locations to restrict or allow specific packaging types.

  • Prerequisites: Requires standardised Case/Inner/Outer quantities to be maintained within the Product Master Data.

  • Hierarchy: Full pallets remain prioritised for racking-level bulk extraction.
