This guide explains how to add a new product to Clarus WMS. You will learn to input product details, unit measurements, warehouse routes, and more. Each section can be saved individually as you complete it.
From the left-hand menu, click on Products. Then, select + New to create a new product.
Fill in the following fields: Code, Description, and Product Type (choose 'Single' or 'Bill of Materials'). The Long Description is optional. Click Save to continue. New sections will appear.
You can add up to three external references if needed. These are not required and will not affect the product if left blank.
Associate multiple accounts with the product by adding the relevant account codes.
Complete the following: Stock Unit Type ('Items,' 'Weight,' or 'Cube'), Barcode (choose format or contact support for custom), Weight, Value, Output Quantity, Allow Receipt of this Configuration (tick if allowed), and Unit of Measure (cm, ft, inch, or metre). Enter Width, Height, Length, and Cube. Click Save.
WARNING: Ensure all measurements are accurate as they impact stock management.Complete the same fields as in the Unit - Items section for cases. Once finished, click Save.
Enter the same details for inner and outer cases as you did for units and cases. Click Save once done.
Tick the relevant boxes: New Product? (if new), Stop? (to stop the product – can be reactivated), Obsolete? (if obsolete), and Assemble on Pick (if assembled during picking). Click Save.
Set the Shelf Life Min/Max. Tick Require Dimensions on Receipt? if needed. Provide a Default Stock Description if required. Set the Default Order Configuration. Click Save.
Click + New to add alternative product codes for multiple end users. Click Save after adding the details.
Click + New to add additional storage units. Fill in the details and click Save. To remove a storage unit, select Delete.
Click + New to set up a warehouse route. Fill in the account, customer, and warehouse codes from the dropdowns. Click Save to confirm.
Click + New to configure a pickface if needed. Complete the Location, Min Trigger (optional), and Max Trigger fields. Click Save.
REMEMBER: Your new product is now set up. Each section saves individually, so there is no need for a final save button.
No, some fields like Long Description and External System References are optional.
Yes, you can edit any section later by navigating back to the product details.
