Learn how to easily add custom variables to your reports in Clarus WMS. This allows you to filter reports using specific criteria like date ranges or account IDs, making your data analysis more efficient and tailored to your needs.
From the 'My Reports' screen, locate the report you wish to work with. Scroll to the right and click the eye icon next to the 'Run' button to view the report.
Once you are in the report view, scroll down to the Variables section. Click 'Add' to see the available variable options for that particular report.
REMEMBER: The options may differ depending on the report type. For example, a 'Receipts Expected' report might have different variable choices. After you have chosen a variable, you can give it a default value. This means the report will automatically use this value each time, so you won't need to enter it manually.
You can also decide if the system should prompt you to enter this variable every time the report is generated. Simply toggle the 'Prompt' option on or off to suit your preference.
Once your variable is added and saved, you will be asked to enter a value when you run the report, but only if the prompt option is switched on. Alternatively, the report might already have the pre-set variable value, which you can change or remove as needed. For instance, if you are using a Warehouse ID, you could enter '21' as the default.
Custom variables are used to filter reports based on specific criteria, such as a particular date range or an account ID, allowing for more focused data analysis.
Yes, the available variable options can vary depending on the type of report you are generating. For example, a 'Receipts Expected' report may offer different variable choices than other reports.
