This guide explains how to set up and customise putaway rules for your products in Clarus WMS. These rules help organise how products are stored in your warehouse based on different criteria, improving efficiency.
Ensure you have completed the stock account setup. When you reach the Putaway section, you can add or customise the putaway rules for your products.
A default rule is automatically created for every product. This rule sorts by Code in Ascending order, meaning products are put away by their code, starting with the lowest.
To create a new rule, click on + New Putaway Rule. A new line will appear below any existing rules.
Click the dropdown and choose one of the following putaway rules:

Pickface Proximity: Stores products near a pickface.
Remaining Height: Prioritises available height in storage.
Walk Sequence: Orders products based on the walking route.
For each rule, you will need to choose a direction:

Ascending: From smallest to largest (e.g., closest proximity, lowest remaining height).
Descending: From largest to smallest.
After selecting the rule and direction, click Save at the end of the row to apply it.
To change the order of the rules, simply drag and drop the rows into the desired sequence.
To delete a rule, click the Delete button next to it.
