This guide explains common reasons why you might have issues with putaway and how to fix them, ensuring your stock is moved to the correct locations smoothly in Clarus WMS.
One frequent problem is that the destination location is not set up to allow putaway. Follow these steps to check and correct this:
Go to the 'Goods In' screen and look at the 'Location To' field.
Click on the location in the data grid or search for the location code in the 'Locations' tab.
Once the location settings are open, scroll down to the 'Options' section.
Check if 'Allow Putaway?' is set to Yes.
If it is set to No, the system will not allow putaway into that location. To fix this, change the setting to Yes.
Another common issue occurs when using 'Putaway by Receipt Reference' on handheld devices. When you choose this, the system suggests a specific pallet to scan first, and that pallet's putaway task is assigned to the user who selected the option. If another user tries to scan and put away that suggested pallet, they will be blocked.
Have the original user complete the putaway for that pallet, or
Instead of using 'Putaway by Receipt Reference,' choose 'Putaway by Storage Unit.' This method allows any user to scan and put away any pallet with an active task, avoiding task assignment problems.
The most common reason is that the 'Allow Putaway?' setting for that location is set to No. You need to change this to Yes in the location settings.
If a pallet was suggested to a user via 'Putaway by Receipt Reference,' its task is assigned to them. A different user will be blocked from completing this task. The original user must complete it, or you should use the 'Putaway by Storage Unit' option instead.
