We’ve rolled out a smarter way to keep your pickfaces stocked: Order Volume Replenishment. Unlike traditional methods that rely on fixed "Min/Max" inventory levels, this dynamic approach triggers replenishments based on actual real-time demand.
Instead of waiting for stock to hit a pre-set low point, the system calculates needs during pick task generation.
The Trigger: When a pick task is created, the system checks the available stock at the pickface.
The Action: If the required pick quantity exceeds what's currently on the shelf, a replenishment task is automatically generated to cover the gap.
Smart Validation: Before creating a new task, the system intelligently checks for any existing replenishment tasks that can already meet the required quantity, preventing redundant work.
The Benefit: This ensures you aren't moving stock unnecessarily, keeping your warehouse flow lean and focused on active orders.
Transitioning a product to this new method is straightforward:
Navigate to Products and select the desired item.
Scroll to the Pickfaces tab.
Choose to create a new pickface or edit an existing one.
Locate the Replenishment Type dropdown and switch the setting from "Continuous" or "Demand" to Order Volume.
Domain Limitation: An Order Volume Replenishment pickface can only be active for one product at a time. Attempting to apply this setting to multiple pickfaces within the same product will not function correctly.
Once active, the system handles the heavy lifting, but the handheld (HHD) workflow has a slight variation:
Dynamic Quantities: In the Tasks screen, the "Confirmed Quantity" field will remain empty (rather than showing a fixed value) because the system is waiting for your manual input based on current needs.
The HHD Flow:
1. Go to Replenishment > Next Replenishment.
2. Confirm the From Location, From Storage Unit, and To Location.
3. Enter Confirmed Quantity: You will be prompted to enter the confirmed quantity. This is the exact amount of stock you are moving to the pickface.
Pro Tip:
Value Required: You must enter a value greater than 0 to complete the task. Entering 0 will result in an error and prevent the task from closing.
