How to Change the Dispatch Strategy for an Account

This guide explains how to easily change the dispatch strategy for any account in Clarus WMS. By following these clear steps, you can tailor dispatch settings to improve operational efficiency for each account.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Account

From the Accounts screen, open the specific account you wish to update.

2. Locate the Dispatch Tab

Either use CTRL + F to search for "Dispatch" or scroll down until you find the Dispatch tab.

3. Choose a Dispatch Strategy

Within the Dispatch tab, you will find options for both Standard Dispatch Strategy and Tote Dispatch Strategy. Select one of the following available strategies:

Auto Dispatch on Completion of All Pick Tasks

This automatically dispatches the order as soon as all picking tasks on the pick list are finished. It means no manual action is needed.

Loading

This allows stock to be grouped into a load. Once the load is complete, it can be closed and dispatched. This is useful for handling items in bulk.

Manual Dispatch

This creates a dispatch task for every completed picking task. These tasks then need to be dispatched manually.

Shipment

Similar to the Loading strategy, this lets you assign stock to a shipment before dispatching. It is ideal for combining several orders.

4. Consider Additional Configuration Options

  • Dispatch by Output Quantity: This prioritises dispatch based on the number of items, ensuring larger quantities are sent out first.
  • Footer Notes: You can add custom notes at the bottom of any generated dispatch note. This gives you flexibility for extra information or instructions.

FAQs

What is the purpose of changing the dispatch strategy?

Changing the dispatch strategy allows you to adjust how orders are dispatched for specific accounts, optimising the process to meet their unique operational needs.

Can I add custom notes to dispatch notes?

Yes, you can add customised footer notes to any dispatch note generated, providing additional information or instructions as required.

What is the difference between Loading and Shipment strategies?
