Consolidated Picking: A Simple Guide

Consolidated picking combines multiple sales orders into one picking list, making your warehouse operations more efficient and boosting productivity. This guide explains how to set up and use this feature in Clarus WMS.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to Warehouse Settings

First, go to the Warehouse screen on the left-hand panel. Then, click on Settings > Warehouses > Show to access the settings for your chosen warehouse.

2. Enable Consolidated Picking

In the General section of the selected warehouse, find the toggle labelled Consolidated Picking. Switch this toggle to Yes to turn on the feature.

AlertREMEMBER: Once activated, certain requirements must be met for consolidated picking to work correctly.

3. Meet Requirements for Consolidated Picking

For orders to be consolidated, they must meet these conditions:

  • Matching Accounts: All orders must belong to the same customer account.
  • Matching Warehouses: Orders must be linked to the same warehouse.
  • Order Status: All orders must be saved and have a Pending status.

WarningWARNING: If these conditions are not met, the system will not allow the orders to be consolidated.

4. Create a Consolidated Picking List

Once the feature is enabled and orders meet the criteria, follow these steps:

4a. Select Orders

On the Sales Order Data Grid screen, find and tick the checkboxes next to the orders you want to consolidate. Make sure they meet all the requirements.

4b. Initiate Consolidation

After selecting the orders, the option Consolidate & Process Picks will appear at the bottom of the data grid. Click this to start the consolidation process.

4c. Fill in Details

A header screen will pop up. You need to enter the following:

  • Reference: A unique ID for the pick.
  • Expected Date of Dispatch: The date you expect the goods to be sent out.
  • Goods Out Bay: The area where goods are ready for shipping.

4d. Generate the Picklist

After entering the details, the system will create the consolidated picklist. You can find this picklist at the top of the screen.

5. Complete the Picking Process

After the consolidated picking list is created, the rest of the picking and dispatch process will continue as normal. Your existing methods for picking and dispatch will still apply, ensuring a smooth workflow.
