Stock Batch vs. Batch Columns

Stock Batch vs. Batch Columns

Understanding Batch and Stock Batch Columns

This article explains the difference between the 'Batch' and 'Stock Batch' columns in Clarus WMS. While they often show similar information, they pull data from different places, which is important for accurate stock tracking.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Adding a Batch Number to Stock

When you receive or add stock, you can assign a batch number. To do this, add the Batch column using the column manager. Once you've added it, the batch number will be linked to that specific stock line.

2. Understanding the Difference Between 'Batch' and 'Stock Batch'

There are two columns related to batches: Batch and Stock Batch. Although they often display the same or similar details, they get their information from different sources:

Stock Batch: This column gets its data directly from the stock records. If a batch number has been assigned to a stock line, this column will show that information.

Batch: This column gets its information from the tasks/transactions screen. It shows batch numbers connected to active tasks that use stock lines. However, this field might sometimes be blank. This happens if a task was created before a batch number was assigned. In these situations, the Stock Batch column will have the information, but the Batch column will not.
